The situation
This provider builds and operates fibre networks. As the business grew, its teams ended up on different tools: delivery work in Asana, engineering in a self-hosted Atlassian Data Centre instance, and service requests in ServiceNow.
Each tool had its own data, licences and admin overhead, and leaders had no single view across teams. With Atlassian moving customers from Data Centre to Cloud, it was the right time to consolidate.
The approach
Quirk structured the work in three horizons, so each stage delivered value on its own and reduced risk for the next.
Horizon 1: Asana to Jira Cloud
- Standardised Jira project templates for each teamโs workflow
- Migration of Asana projects and data into Jira Cloud
- Dashboards for team and management visibility
- User documentation and training materials
Horizon 2: Data Centre to Cloud
- Migration of the Data Centre instance to Atlassian Cloud
- A modernised integration architecture
- A cloud governance and administration framework
- Final training and knowledge transfer
Horizon 3: one service desk
- A Jira Service Management portal for service requests
- A strategy and migration plan to replace ServiceNow
- Knowledge base structure and starter content
- Automation workflows and SLA tracking
Why it matters
Consolidating onto Atlassian Cloud gives the business one platform for delivery, engineering and service, fewer licences to manage, and a clear path off Data Centre well before Atlassianโs 2029 end-of-life date.
